Goldena Williams, 101, of Cresco, Iowa, formerly of Lime Springs, Iowa, passed away at the Accura Healthcare Center in Cresco, Iowa.

Goldena Belle Williams was born April 7, 1919, the first of three children born to Hugh O. and Helena Mildred (Dodd) Williams, in rural Lime Springs, Iowa. She attended local schools in and near Lime Springs and graduated 8th grade. After her father’s passing, the family purchased a farm southeast of Chester and moved there in the spring of 1948. She raised a large garden, canned and preserved a vast quantity of fruits and vegetables every year, baked homemade wheat bread weekly for decades, and she lovingly cared for her mother and brother to the end of their lives.

Throughout her life, Goldena gave testimony to her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ for her salvation and quoted many Scripture passages from memory. She shared her musical talents freely as pianist and organist at Bethany Bible Church in LeRoy, Minnesota, for a span of 50 years. Goldena dearly loved both her King James Bible and the treasured hymns of the faith and had accumulated many hymnals, song books, and recordings. She enjoyed quilting, plants, and Bible-themed word searches.

She is survived by her sister Millie Anderlik of Cresco, nephew Jerry Anderlik, niece Jean (Bruce) Smith; nephew Jeffrey (Josephine) Anderlik, many grand nieces and nephews, and one great-grandnephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Lena, brother Frank, and brother-in-law Harold Anderlik.
