OBITUARY
Mullen.
Miss Nellie Mullen passed away at St. Vincent’s hospital, after an illness covering but a few weeks, of anemia. Her death is a great shock to an unusually large circle of friends in Crookston and surrounding towns. While the end was not entirely unexpected, friends and relatives hoped against hope and the shock was not tempered by preparedness. Miss Mullen had been very patient and cheerful during her illness in accord with a sunny disposition through life, which served to brighten the path of many others. Miss Mullen had made her home with her sister Mrs. J. F. Creamer for 26 years, ever since coming to Crookston from the old home at Cresco, Iowa. For many years she was connected with the firm of Fontaine & Anglim, of this city, but of late years she had conducted a very successful millinery business. Deceased was 42 years of age and the greater part of her life was spent in Crookston, where she was a consistent member of the Cathedrel parish.
She leaves, besides Mrs. Creamer, a mother and one sister at Cresco, Iowa, another sister Mrs. Hughes of Portland, Ore., who has been here the past two weeks, and a brother at Los Angeles. The remains will be taken to Cresco for burial beside her father.—Crookston Daily Times.
Funeral services were held at the Church of the Assumption Saturday, May 31, at 9. a. m., with burial at St. Joseph’s cemetery.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born in 1871 which agrees with the above-mentioned age. Her gravestone shows her date of death as May 27, 1913.
