Gager.
Adaline Elsina Trask was born at Elmira, N. Y., Oct. 15, 1849, and peacefully passed away at Cresco, Iowa, March 7, 1913.
Her father died when she was four years old. At the age of six she came with her mother to Clayton county, Iowa. She was left without either father or mother at ten years of age and for some years made her home with her uncle.
On Christmas day, 1865, she was united in marriage to John Gager and to this union there were born five children, four of whom are still living, Miss Nettie Strawn of Cresco, Lorenzo D. of Tipton, Iowa, Mrs. Evelyn Jones of Mason City and Virginia of Cresco. Two brother, Lorenzo H. Trask of Blunt, S. D., and Lyman W. Trask of Ft. Worth, Tex., who with the bereaved husband and fourteen grandchildren are left to mourn her death.
She was converted at an early age and united with the Methodist Episcopal church of which she was a constant member until about 1877 when she with her family 1877 when she with her family joined the Baptist church of Cresco of wh{i}ch she was a member until her death.
Most of her life was spent near Cresco and a large number of friends mourn the departure of a noble friend and neighbor.
The end came very peacefully and her faith in Christ was expressed by her last words.
“The blood, the blood, its all my plea, Halelujah, it cleanseth me.
Funeral services conducted by Revs. Shaffer and Gammons were held from the Baptist church Monday afternoon. Burial in Oak Lawn.
