HENLEY
John Henley was born at Eagle Fall, Lancaster Co., England, Oct 13, 1823, and passed away Jan, 13, 1913, at his home in Cresco at the age of 89 years and 3 months. On Aug. 24, 1851, he was united in marriage to Mildria Bradfield, of Grundy county, Ill., who passed away in 1868. To this union were born two children, a daughter, now deceased and a son. J. L., who still resides in Cresco. He was one of the early residents of Cresco, and until a few years ago was one of the familiar figures of the city. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Schaffer. Interment in New Oregon cemetery.{sic}

HENLEY
John Henley was born at Eagle Hall, County of Lincoln, Old England, October 13, 1823, and died at his home in Cresco, Iowa, January 13, 1913, aged 89 years and 3 months.
From England he moved to Chicago at an early age. There he was united in marriage to Mildria Bradfield, of Greenwood Township, Grundy County. Illinois, on August 24, 1851. Two children blessed this union, John Lewis and Laura Ann.
At the Iowa Land Sale, he moved to New Oregon where he resided until Cresco started, then he moved to Cresco where his death occurred.
He leaves to mourn his loss, a son; Laura Ann having proceeded him to better land on Nov. 24, 1894; also his wife on Nov. 25, 1868, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at his home on Thursday afternoon at one o’clock with interment at Oak Lawn cemetery.
