In 1868, she with her family emigrated to Howard county, Iowa, where for many years she endured the hardships of the early pioneer settlers, living on a farm in Howard Center township until 1901 when she moved to Cresco where she resided until her death, which occurred Dec. 23rd, 1912, and was laid to rest by the side of her husband in St. Joseph’s cemetery, Dec. 26th, her husband having preceded her in death 27 years.Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in Calvary Cresco Cemetery shows she was born in 1830.
