The remains of Lawrence Shaw, who passed away in a Buffalo, N. Y. hospital several days ago from typhoid fever, arrived in Cresco on Sunday morning, having been secured and shipped to Cresco, after a good deal of trouble and misunderstanding, by Chan Robinson, who is visiting near Buffalo. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the home of his mother.

Lawrence Shaw was born in Adams, Minn., Aug. 19, 1886. He came to Cresco when a child and remained until 1907, when he went to Northfield where he attended St. Olaf College. In 1908 he completed a business course at Oelwein where he accepted a position for the Great Western Railroad, and later one at Waterloo for the I. C. R. R. After June 1st of this year he took up traveling for a new R. R. Co. from Oklahoma and Kansas to Maryland. On his way back to Cresco, he was stricken with typhoid fever from which he never recovered. He died on Dec. 5th at a hospital in Buffalo, N. Y. He leaves to mourn his loss a mother, brother and two sisters.
By the kindness of C. F. Robinson at Marilla, N. Y., the remains reached here Monday morning. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Svenungson, Monday, at 2:15 p. m., and burial was in Oak Lawn.
