WALTER.
Charlotte Melhert was born on the 12th day of December, 1830, at Mosthitz, Prussia, where she grew to womanhood. In 1850 she was married to Wm. Walter who preceded her in death in 1904. This union was blessed with 10 children of whom 5, three sons and two daughters survive her. In 1889, deceased with her husband followed some of their children to this country, remaining for one year at Manistee, Michigan, then coming to this part of Iowa, where they made their home with their son Ferdinand Walter. On Tuesday last, Nov, 14th, she passed peacefully into the beyond, mourned over by her son and his six children to whom she had been a mother for the last seven years, since Mrs. Ferdinand Walter's death. Interment was at Granger, Friday last, Rev. J. Pless conducting the funeral service.
