OBITUARY.
Mrs. Ed. Collins was born in Howard County, Iowa, January 1, 1860, and died at her home in Elma on Monday, September 11, 1911, aged 50 years, 8 months and 11 days. Mary Ann was the oldest child of John and Mary Healey of whom there were four sons and five daughters.
The writer of this sketch was intimately acquainted with the deceased for the past 33 years and during nearly all that time Mary taught in the public scoools{sp} of Howard Co. always holding a first grade certificate and was accredited with being one of the best teachers in the county. Mary Ann was married to Edward Collins the 18th day of February 1901. They had one child born to them, a son aged 9 years. The funeral was held at the Immaculate conception church at Elma on Wednesday morning, September 13th and the remains were taken to Lourdes for burial, the funeral being largely at¬tended.
