KINNEY.
Died in Sioux City, Iowa, Wednesday, June 21, 1911, John Thomas Kinney, aged 46 years, 3 months and 8 day.
Mr. Kinney was born at Cresco, Iowa, March 13, 1865, and grew to manhood there. There he met and was united in marriage to Agnes Daugherty on November 27, 1890. Two years later they came to Wayne county and settled on the farm where the family lived at the time of his death. To this union was born ten children, Joseph 20, Marre 18, Leona 16, Lems 14, Edmond 12, Charles 10, Damond 8, Charles 6, Agnus 4 and John 2, all of whom are living.
The life of Mr. Kinney was a useful one. With a large family and being one of our most thrifty farmers kept him ever at work. The sick and afflicted were never without true sympathy at his hands. He was an active member of the St. Frances Catholic church of this city, and always lived true to his faith. To visit the sick and afflicted, to extend the hand of sympathy to the bereaved, to encourage the weakening character, and to spread good cheer wherever present seemed to be his greatest mission here on earth. Not only has the kind wife and dear children suffered an irrepariable{sp} loss, but this community likewise loses a good liberal minded and Christian citizen.
The funeral was held from the St. Frances Catholic church Friday morning at 10 o’clock, Rev. Peter Grobbel officiating, and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery a mile north of the church.
The funeral of Mr. Kinney at Randolph was one of the largest ever held in this section.---Randolph (Neb.) Paper.
