Thomas Sullivan was born in Queen’s County Ireland, Dec. 21, 1823. At the age of six years he moved with his parents to Canada. Ten years later he moved to New York. On Feb. 11 1849 he was united in marriage to Bridget Brennan. About the year 1884 they moved to Howard County and resided here until his death. Three sons and two daughters mourn his loss; Tom, P. J. and Ed of this place, Mrs. Frank Devereaux of Elma, and Mrs. W. E. Roche of Minot, N. Dak. Mr. Sullivan lived with his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jane Sullivan up to the time of his death, which occurred Feb. 22, 1911. Thus passes one of our pioneers. Mr. Sullivan was an upright, industrious, kindly man who knew the hardships of a pioneer life and the rewards of honest toil. He led a Christian life, and was beloved by all who knew him. Interment was made in the local cemetery.
