Our community was sadly shocked at hearing of the sudden death of Mrs. Fred Roth of heart failure, which occurred at her home about 6 o’clock Tuesday morning, almost without warning. The bereaved family has the sincere sympathy of the entire community.

ROTH
Charlotte Pfister was born in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland, Aug. 18, 1859, daughter of a teacher in the public schools of that county. After her father’s death she left her native land and in April, 1884, arrived in Ohio.
On the first of October, 1884, she was united in marriage with Fred Roth, her surviving husband. Their union was blessed with three children, two sons and one daughter, all born in the vicinity of Cresco.
While the deceased had been ailing for some time, nobody expected the time of her departure to be so near at hand. Tuesday last, the 21st, at seven in the morning, she fell suddenly asleep, having attained an age of 51 years and 6 months.
The funeral services were held last Friday at Emmanuel’s Lutheran church, Rev. J. Pless officiating. Interment at New Oregon cemetery.
