Squiers, Linda Elaine (Ott) 1944 - 2020

STORY CITY - Linda Elaine Squiers, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Story City, Iowa on March 1, 2020 after a courageous one- year struggle with cancer.
A visitation was held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames, Iowa on Saturday, March 7, 2020.
Linda was born on March 24, 1944 and raised by her parents, Alice and Florian Ott in the northeast Iowa town of Cresco. She attended elementary school at St. Joseph Catholic School and continued her education at Notre Dame High School, graduating with the Class of 1962. It was at Notre Dame she met her husband of 55 years, David J. Squiers.
The couple was united in marriage on Aug. 29, 1964 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cresco. From that marriage, Linda became the mother of six children, Richard (Kim) of Kearney, Neb., Kelly (Kirk) Jordison of Ankeny, Iowa, Jennifer (Jason) Dalgliesh of Ames, Iowa, Melinda (Kraig) Loftin of Grinnell, Iowa, Lisa (Nathan) Vos of Lafayette, Ind. and Robert (Ann) of Gilbert, Iowa. Then the Squiers family grew to 21 grandchildren in the following years, Jordan, Becky, David, Maddie, Anna and Callie Squiers from Rick and Kim; Tyler, Austin and Jared Jordison from Kelly and Kirk; Brooke, Sadie, Sam and Ben from Jennifer and Jason; Cody, Colton, Haley and Zac from Melinda and Kraig; Eli from Lisa and Nathan; and Carson, Hayden and Josephine from Robert and Ann. Three great-grandchildren also added joy to her life, Mason (Haley Loftin), Amelia (Sam Dalgliesh) and Graham (Tyler and Emma Jordison).
In addition, Linda is survived by her loving husband, David; a sister, Gilda (John) Mullen of Cresco; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins, as well as her 100-year-old mother-in-law, Ruth Squiers of Belle Plaine, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florian and Alice Ott.
