Word was received that Mrs. Mary Ferrie died at Waterloo Tuesday and will be brought to Cresco for burial in St. Joseph’s cemetery Friday, May 1{?}. She was the youngest sister of Da. Barnes.

Death of Mrs. Mary J. Ferry.
Mrs. Mary J. Ferry, after a lingering illness from cancer, died last night at 11:45 o’clock, at her home, 206 Jefferson street. Death had long been anticipated, even by the patient, and several weeks weeks{sic} ago Mrs. Ferry planned all the funeral arrangements which she wished carried out. She was born at Cresco, Iowa, Dec. 25, 1858, and is survived by the widower, Joseph Ferry, and five children. The children are James Ferry of Oelwein and Bernadetta, Leonard, Gertrude and Francis, all at home.
The family came to Waterloo in September of 1910, from Oelwein, and they previously resided in Cresco. Mr. and Mrs. James Barnes, the parents of the dead woman, as are also three brothers. Daniel and Jerry Barnes are surviving brothers, living at Cresco, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Connor, is also a resident of Cresco.
Mrs. Ferry was a member of Sacred Heart parish and also of the W. C. O. F. and the Yeomen.
Funeral services was conducted Thursday at 12:30 o’clock at the residence, Father Hanley in charge, and the remains were taken to Cresco for burial.—Waterloo Tribune.Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone photo shows the name spelled Ferrie.
