Mrs. Margaret McHugh passed away yesterday morning after a long illness extending over a year, and having been confined to her bed for the past two months. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at the Church of the Assumption.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in Calvary Cresco shows she was born June 12, 1842.

OBITUARY.
MC HUGH.
Margaret Falvey McHugh was born in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada, in 1842, and passed away at her home in Cresco on Thursday, May 2, 1912, aged 70 years.
In 1863 she was united in marriage to John McHugh. In 1873 they came to the United States, residing in Dubuque, later at Lawler, and moved to Cresco in 1878. To them six children were born, three of whom died in infancy. Of the three who reached adult life, two sons, John and Orvine, reside in Cresco, the sister, Mrs. Anna Ahern, passed away in 1903. The husband and father passed away in 1897.
The funeral was held Saturday, May 4th, at the Church of the Assumption. Requiem High Mass was intoned by Father T. J. Murtagh and the sermon was delivered by Father Murphy of Dubuque.
