Rudolph Thompson, son of Ralph Thompson, passed away Saturday in a hospital at Dubuque and the remains were brought to Cresco Monday for interment. The funeral will probably be held this afternoon if the sisters arrive in time to permit of its being held at that time.

Rudolph Peter Thompson, son of Ralph R. Thompson and wife Mary, was born in Cresco, Ia., Oct. 30, 1884, and died at Dubuque, la., March 23, 1912. He received his early education in the Cresco public schools, where he took a prominent part in the various school activities and athletics, being well equipped both mentally and physically to take his place in the world’s battles. After graduation from High school, he spent some time in school in Minneapolis preparing for business life. He then took a position in the National Bank of Decorah, but soon relinquished that for a more promising field in the west. All indications now seemed to promise brightly for the future, but the auspiciously begun career was soon to be ended. A nervous breakdown brought him to the hospital. For five years he suffered, though with the best care that love could provide, until he finally was released by death.
The funeral took place Wednesday from the family home and the First Lutheran church, with interment in Oak Lawn. Rev. Lauritz Larson officiating. He leaves to mourn his loss his father, four sisters, and one brother.
