Mrs. Mary A. Baker died at the home of her son, Jacob Baker, Saturday, February 24, 1912.
Mary Anna Schneider was born in Harsperch, Germany, May 17, 1834, and in the spring of the year 1857 she came to America. Soon thereafter she was married to Jacob Baker. To this union were born five children, Kathryn, Jacob, Mary, Maggie and Frank. Her husband and Kathyrn and Frank have preceded her in death. Two daughters and one son survive to mourn the death of their beloved mother; also seven grand-children mourn her death. Funeral was held from the residence of her son, Monday morning to St. Joseph’s church, where Father Wagener celebrated requiem high mass. Interment was made in St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery. The funeral services were largely attended. Those from away were Mr. Joe Herold and daughters Emma and Gertrude and Mr. Clemence Herold from Spillville, Iowa, Mr. Henry Lichtman, from New Hampton, Ia.
