OBITUARY.
NORTON.
May, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Norton, died at the home of her parents in Paris Township, August 17, 1910, aged 11 years and 9 days. May was a precocious child. She had wisdom far exceeding her tender years. In her last illness which was of short duration—only one week, her only regret was that she could not assist her parents. She had a sunny disposition, and during her short stay on this earth she had endeared herself to her many friends, as was evident by the many little schoolmates who came to view for the last time on this earth the mortal remains of little May. While all who knew May will miss her and regret her early demise, it is in the family circle that she will be greatly missed. From a worldly standpoint it would seem that this fair young life was much too short; but sweet religion comes to our aid in such sweet religion comes to our aid in such a case and teaches us that while she was so desirous to be of assistance to her parents in this life, she can now be of much more assistance to them in the spiritual life. Though her years here were but few, her kind deeds were many, and there will ever linger in the hearts of her parents a fond memory of their darling May.
She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her parents, one brother, four sisters, many other relatives and a host of friends. Her funeral was held from the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, August 19, 1910, where Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Father Thole. Her remains were then laid to rest in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone shows her name as Mary.
