We are very sorry to report the death of little Stanley Horton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dell Horton, who was drowned in our Old Town river, Sunday afternoon. His father was carrying him while he was in the water and suddenly stepped into a hole. The child slipped from his father’s arms and although there were several present who were experienced in swimming and diving, and who immediately assisted in the search for him, he was not found for about an hour and a half when Fred Hill brought him up. Drs. Carpenter and Plummer worked over him for over an hour with the best of their ability, but to no avail. The sorrowing family have the greatest sympathy of all in the loss of their little three-year-old.
