DIED--In Vernon Springs Township, November 24, 1864, of typhoid fever, Lina, only daughter of George W. & Mary Dawes, aged 3 years, 11 months, and 14 days.
Cease, fond parents, cease to weep,
Your beloved is on high
Little Lina's gone to sleep,
Nevermore to wake and cry.Ne'er again shall Death's keen arrow,
Chill that young and tender heart,
She has gone where comes no sorrow,
And where loved ones never part.Listen! to the spirit's whisper,
Hear her angel voice say,
Father, mother, little brother,
Meet me in an endless day.L.A.S.
