OBITUARY.
Mary Immeldia Burke was born in Deerfield, July 28, 1903. She was a bright, lovable child and her unexpected death is a sad shock to her parents. Immeldia was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Burke of St. Paul. The little one was always a healthy child and never complained till Thursday, Aug. 19th. She then became seriously ill with infantile paralysis and passed away on Monday, Aug. 23, 1909. The remains were brought to Elma, Tuesday, to the home of Mrs. Will Kane and interred in the Catholic cemetery at this place on Wednesday. The body was carried to the grave by six little girls clad in white and followed by four little flower girls. Besides the sorrowing parents, those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. D. Franklin and family, Mr. and Mrs. F. Ulirelling and Thos. Kernan, of St. Paul, Mr. Shields, of Albert Lea, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Shields and family, of Nashua, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Shields, of Austin, Mrs. M. A. Shields, of St. Paul, and Mrs. Anna Riley and son Earl, of Waverly.Transcriber’s Note: There is a gravestone in Calvary Elma with the name Jmilda M. Burke and the exact same dates except the year of death appears to be 1906 instead of 1909.
