Mrs. J. F. C. Genshow came down from St. Paul to attend the funeral of her father, Stephen Burr. She expects to return home to-day.

BURR.
Stephen Burr was born in Markham, Canada, March 25, 1823. Here he grew to manhood and was married and here his wife died after twelve years of married life.
In 1863 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Jane Bell and in 1875 they came to Iowa and settled at Kendallville. Nine children were born to this union, four of whom, R. H. and Fred of Cresco, Mrs. Lillie Genshow of St. Paul and Mrs. Libbie Clark of Spokane, Wash., with the wife remain to mourn his loss.
After leaving Kendallville, Mr. Burr made his home on a farm near Ridgeway until coming to Cresco to reside about 22 years ago, which continued to be his residence until his death which occurred after a long illness, Thursday evening, Aug. 26, 1909, at the age of 86 years and five months.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of his son Fred, Rev. John Gammons officiating. Interment was in the New Oregon cemetery.
