Peter Rink, who has been quite feeble for some time, passed away Sunday at his home in Cresco. The funeral takes place at St. Joseph’s church at 10 o’clock this morning. The deceased was a highly respected resident of New Oregon township for many years. A later issue of the PLAIN DEALER will contain an obituary of the deceased.

RINK.
Peter Rink pass{e}d away Sunday morning at 7 o’clock, August 30, 1909, at his home in Cresco after a long illness. He was born in 1833, in Bavaria, Germany, and came to America in 1858, living in New York eight years.
In 1863 he was married to Barbra Miller, who passed away April 7, 1891, and they moved to this county in 1866, making Mr. Rink a resident of Howard county for 43 years, most of the time being spent on his farm 4½ miles south of Cresco.
The deceased was the father of eight children, Jacob, Henry, Frank, Peter and Lillie, and Mesd. Mary Haubrick, Margaret Thiel and Barbra Bowers, all of whom survive to mourn his loss, as well as a sister, Mrs. Schlegel, of New York City, and two brothers, John of New York City and Jacob of Cresco.
The funeral was held Tuesday, the 31st from St. Joseph’s church with interment in St. Joseph’s cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone shows he died August 29, 1909 and was born June 3, 1833.
