Mrs. A. J. Owens passed away on Wednesday at her home in New Hampton after an illness of some time with lung trouble. George Owens and her brothers and sisters, the Shea children, from this vicinity, went over Wednesday afternoon to attend the funeral.

Mrs. A. J. Owens, who had been suffering from consumption for several years, passed away at her home in the first ward Wednesday morning at n quarter to 5 o’clock.
Death came to this good woman as a relief from prolonged suffering and she was not loth to go, although the pangs of separation from her loved ones were hard to bear.
Mary E. Shea was born near Lime Springs August 1, 1847. She was united in marriage to Mr. A. J. Owens at Cresco June 19, 1901, and they began life together in the town of Ossian, Iowa. They lived at various places and came from Lawler, where they had resided four years to New Hampton this spring.
She was the mother of three sons, Frank, John and Raymond. Besides her husband and these little boys, she leaves two sisters and three brothers Miss Anna Shea of Cresco, Mrs. L. DeWall of Chester, Iowa, James and Will Shea of Cresco, and Stephen of Edgerton, Wis.
The remains were taken to Elma Friday, where services will be held in the Catholic church and interment made there.
