ANOTHER SOLDIER GONE
It is with feelings of sadness that we approach the task of announcing the death of I. W. Poe, of Co. I, 38th Iowa Infantry. In the fall of 1862 he enlisted supposing the contest was for the preservation of the union with the rights of all sections unimpaired. He lived to see and understand that another and different object animated the administration in all its efforts. Well may our people mourn his loss. None knew him but to respect him. Peace be to his ashes.
