Our city was saddened, Thursday, by the announcement of the death of Mrs. J. J. Hughes, wife of one of our most respected citizens. She was stricken with paralysis late Wednesday evening and passed away during the afternoon of the next day.

Transcriber’s Note: Pleasant Hill Cemetery records show this was Mary and that she was born August 9, 1837 and died March 11, 1909.
