Mrs. Schimming passed away on Tuesday evening at her home in Cresco, after a brief illness. With her at the time of her death were her daughter, Mrs. E. O. Jones with whom the deceased made her home, and her son John who had been summoned from Waukon. A. C. Schimming and Mrs. A. 0. Campbell have arrived to attend the funeral which took place this morning at nine o'clock at the home. Interment in the Saratoga cemetery.

SCHIMMING.
Christina Minnie Henke was born at Gottberg, Prussia, July 22, 1835, and departed life in Cresco, March 2, 1909.
At the age of 16 years, she came to this country, locating at Jefferson, Wis., where she was united in marriage to John Gottlich Schimming. This union was blessed with nine children, 5 boys and 4 girls, 2 boys dying m infancy. In 1872, the family moved to Howard County, Iowa, which place has been the home of the deceased ever since. Three years ago, the increasing infirmities of old age compelled her to leave the old home place west of Saratoga and come to Cresco. Although she was in failing health for some time, yet the end came rather unexpectedly at midnight of Tuesday, March 2nd. The burial was in the Saratoga cemetery on Friday, March 5th. She was a faithful wife and a devoted mother.
