Darlene Lois Fenneman, age 87, of Elma, IA, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2019 at Mercy One Hospital in New Hampton, IA.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in Elma. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery at Elma.

Darlene Lois Fenneman was born on October 19,1931 to Jesse Peacock in Rockford, IL where she attended school. She later moved to Waterloo, IA where she worked as a waitress and store clerk. Darlene was united in marriage to Lynford Fenneman on December 2, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Evansdale, IA. In 1962 they moved to New Hampton, IA residing there until they moved to Elma in the 1980’s.

Darlene enjoyed cooking, feeding birds, gardening, collecting tooth pick holders, watching Cardinals baseball games and fishing. She was belovedly known by her grandchildren as Grandma Coo Coo. She was a passionate conservationist and member of Ducks Unlimited and Elma United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children; Linda (Clayton) Fisk of Buckingham, IA, Brenda (Bill) Bowers of Waterloo, IA, Richard (Michele) Fenneman of Cambridge, IA, Dawn Fenneman of Cambridge, IA, grandchildren; Michelle (Tim) Graves, Bill (Janeen) Baltes, David (Dawn) Fenneman, Kimberly (Tim) Seemann, Aaron (Alyson) Baltes, Jen Demaray, great grandchildren; Arielle Davidson, Logan, Ally, Kailey, Taylor, and Jordyn Baltes, Lucas and Amber Fenneman, great great granddaughter; Layla Grace.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Darlene is preceded in death by her mother and husband Lynford.
