WATSON.
Abbie J. Lane was born Sept. 9, 1838, in New York City and passed away at her home near Cresco, Iowa, at 1:30 p. m., Oct. 31, 1908. She was married to Jas. Watson Feb. 13, 1863, and moved west to Riceville, Iowa, the same year and lived there four years, and since then has lived on the farm near Cresco, Iowa. Eight children were born to bless this union; all living. Mrs. Ray Crum, the youngest girl, had just started for Medford, Oregon, and could not be present at the funeral. John, the youngest son, is in Chicago and was unable to come on account of sickness.
Wm. Lane, brother of the deceased, residing in Minneapolis, has been with Mrs. Watson for five months and was present at funeral.
The deceased has suffered for the past year, but was not confined to her bed until the last three weeks. The husband and father preceded her to the better land six years ago. She was a member of Baptist church of Cresco.
Funeral services held from home Tuesday morning conducted by Rev. Hill. Interment in New Oregon cemetery.
