REARDON:
Mrs. Julia Ashline Reardon was born in Clinton County, New York, April 15, 1825, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Lenth, in Cresco, Ia., Thursday, Dec. 20, 1906, at 12:45 a. m., at the age of 81 years, 8 months, and 5 days.
With her parents she came to Iowa in 1856, where they settled on a farm near National, Clayton County, Iowa. In 1858, she was united in marriage to John Reardon, taking up their home on a farm near Farmersburg where they resided until 1895, when death deprived her of her husband.Seven children were born to this union; two daughters and four sons survive her, one child having died at the age of two years and six months. The remaining children are Mrs. M. R. Seery, of Evanston, Ill , Eugene and Dr. C. J , of Medina, N. D., Mrs. W. C. Lenth, of Cresco, la., and Daniel and Edward, of Farmersburg.
Mrs. Reardon was a Christian woman of many noble qualities, a good wife and a kind and loving mother. She was a firm believer in the Catholic Church, ever striving to instill the Christian spirit into the home.
The funeral occurred at St. Patrick’s Church in Monona, Saturday, Dec. 22nd, at 10 o’clock a. m., Rev. Father Hogan officiating. Interment was in Monona Catholic Cemetery.
