ROACHE:
P. H. Roache whose death notice was received here, was well known throughout this vicinity. He died in Peoria, Ill., Nov. 12th, of pneumonia after an illness of three weeks and was buried in Chicago Nov. 15th.
P. H. was one of Elma's first citizens, having conducted a grocery store here for a number of years. He was born May 7, 1858, in Howard County, Iowa, and was married in 1866 to Miss Martha Doyle. Two sons were born to them, Raymond and Walter, who reside with their mother in Chicago.
He leaves a mother, two brothers and four sisters; W. H., of Cresco, J, E , of Chicago, Mrs. D. J. O’Donnell, of this place, Mrs. W. M. Cullton, and Misses Mary and Libby Roache, of Chicago.—Elma New Era.Transcriber’s Note: These dates don’t make sense – I doubt that he was 8 years old when he got married.
