Mrs. John Jackson, one of the old residents of Cresco passed away Thursday morning after an illness of about six weeks.

JACKSON:
Catherine McGrath was born in Tipperary, Ireland, In 1822, and died at her home in Cresco, la., Thursday, March 29, 1906, aged 84 years. With her parents, she came to America in 1830, and located at Van Kleek Hill, N. Y., and a few years later went to Saratoga Springs, N. Y., where she was united in marriage with John Jackson, moving from there to Malone, N. Y., and later coming to Cresco in 1866, residing here continuously since. She was the mother of five children, four of whom survive her, two of them being with her at the time of her death.
She was a kind and loving mother, a Christian woman, beloved by everyone.
The funeral occurred Saturday morning from the Church of the Assumption.
