Obituary.
Sam Samson was born in Stavanger, Norway, Sept. 16, 1839. He came to America 25 years later and settled near Ossian, Iowa. Was married the same summer to Sarah Anderson, coming to Howard county later, where he has resided since. Six children were born to them, four preceding the father to the great unknown. Two, Mrs. Ellen Anderson of Jerico, Iowa, and Mrs. Bertha Hagen at Phoenix, Ariz., with the aged mother are left to mourn for the dear husband and father.
Mrs. Hagen left her home in the west and came early in the summer to care for the suffering father until death came to his relief Nov. 10, 1905.
Mr. Samson has been sick for a good many months; for about a year he has been a terrible sufferer, being compelled to sit in a chair, where he died. When a young man in his home country Mr. Samson sailed on the high seas. Since coming to the United States Mr. Samson has been a farmer. He was a kind and devoted husband and father, an obliging, honest neighbor, being strictly honest and upright always. If there were more like him the world would be better.
