Charlotte Mae O’Donnell, 76 of Elma, Iowa passed away on December 16, 2018. Charlotte passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family at Colonial Manor in Elma, IA from complications of Lewy Body Dementia that she has lived with for the past 9 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma, IA with Father Jerry Kopachek celebrating the mass. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Elma.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:45 AM on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in Elma. Online condolences for Charlotte’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com . Memorials may be directed to the family.

Charlotte was born on June 23, 1942 in Plymouth, IA to Kenneth and Pauline (Scarrow) Chapin. One of 17 children she grew up on a farm in Plymouth and graduated from high school in 1961. After graduation Charlotte met the love of her life and James and Charlotte were married on August 18, 1962. Charlotte dedicated her life to helping Jim on the farm in Elma, IA, and also worked at Sara Lee in New Hampton, IA for 20 years. Most of all, Charlotte loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Charlotte is survived by her husband James O’Donnell, her four children Barb (Earl) Lane of Mulberry, FL, John O’Donnell of Minneapolis, MN, Margaret Corkrean of Waukee, IA, Bill O’Donnell of Byron, MN. Also, nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, extended family members, Terry Corkrean of Ankeny, IA and Jennifer O’Donnell of Byron, MN, her brothers, sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Pauline, brothers Glen, Kermit, Gary, and twin brother Lynn Chapin, and sister Betty Monroe.
