R. J. Hazeldine, whose illness we noted last week, passed away Tuesday. The funeral will be held this afternoon at the home. This family has been sorely afflicted in the loss of first a child and next the father, with the life of another little child hanging in the balance, and calls forth the highest expressions of sympathy from all.

HAZLEDINE.
Rueben J. Hazledine, oldest son of Joseph and Elizabeth Hazeldine, was born in Nottinghamshire, England, March 15, 1843, and died May 24, 1905, aged 62 years, two months and nine days.
He came to America when he was seven years old, with his parents, and settled in Ohio. In July 1861, he came to Iowa and since then has resided in Cresco most of the time.
There are left to mourn his loss, his wife, four sons and one daughter, a sister and a brother in Los Angeles, Calif., a sister at Ruthven, Iowa, and a sister at Cresco.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon at the family residence, Rev. Gammons, pastor of the M.E. church, of which deceased was a member, officiating. The funeral was in charge of the Masonic fraternity. Interment was at Oaklawn.Transcriber’s Note: The last name is spelled two different ways; however, the gravestone shows Hazledine.
