An Unexpected Death.
Everyone was inexpressibly shocked to hear early Wednesday forenoon that W. H. Alleman had died very suddenly and without warning while at the race track to which place be had accompanied his son Earl. He was conversing with Enoch Strother and suddenly clutching his side in the region of his heart exclaimed that he had a severe pain there. No other words were uttered and he collapsed and fell into Mr. Strother’s arms. Medical aid was summoned but he passed away in about fifteen minutes. He had been unusually well up to within a few days of his death, but had for the past few days complained some of not feeling very well, and of pains in the region of his heart, but had not considered it serious enough to consult a physician.
His son Ed, of Oelwein, la., and brother Chris, of Taopi, Minn., arrived Wednesday evening and a brother William, of Argus, Indiana, and his other children are all expected, and until they arrive the time of the funeral will not be definitely settled upon, but it is thought it will be held on Saturday.
