OBITUARY.
PERRY
Caroline Mintey was born Oct. 16, 1861, in New Oregon, Howard county, Iowa. Here she grew to womanhood loved and respected by all. On Feb. 13, 1881, she was married to Mr. Warren B. Perry of Cresco, six children were born to them: Mrs. Emory Adams of Austin, Minn., and Bertram, Bernice, Bessie, Burnetta and Janie, who with the husband, are left to mourn the departure of the devoted and true wife and mother. All the family were with her to minister to her comfort at the last hours. Besides the above she leaves an aged father and mother, two sisters and a brother who mourn her untimely death.
At the age of 18 years she united with the Cresco Baptist church of which she has been a faithful member ever since. She died in the hope of seeing the glory of God and enjoying the bliss of the heavenly home.
For many months she has been an intense sufferer from cancer and tumor, but she bore the pain bravely and patiently, never giving utterance to a complaining word. The pain that was hardest to bear was the thought that she must leave her husband and family of small children to whom it was her joy to minister.
Christ came and took his own to be with Him Monday morning April 10, 1905. Funeral services were held at, the home conducted by Rev. C. P. Kirby, assisted by Rev. John Gammons. Her remains were laid to rest in New Oregon cemetery where they await the sound of the archangel’s trumpet, “Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.”
