Ann was born October 24th, 1942 in Elma, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Marie (Ferrie) O’Donnell. Ann grew up with her siblings on the family farm near Elma and attended and graduated from Afton Country school No. 9. Ann graduated with the class of 1961 from the Immaculate Conception Academy in 1961. After graduation, she spent time living and working in Rochester, Minnesota and Minneapolis, Minnesota where she was employed at the Hennepin County Library.

On February 5, 1966, she married Joe Neubauer at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elma, Iowa. To this union, two sons were born, Joe and Tony. They spent the first two years of their marriage living in the apartment above the Davis Corners store. From 1968 until 1985, they farmed on a family acreage on Highway 63. In 1985, the family moved into Cresco. From 1984 until 2001, Ann was an in-home daycare provider. She adored children and had a very special knack with them. She treated them as if they were her own kids, even as they grew up and left her care. During the 2001-2002 school year, she worked at the after-school program at Crestwood Elementary, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Ann loved to chat and visit with anyone that was in her presence. She considered everyone a friend and took a sincere interest in every single person she met. She loved visiting on the phone for hours with her family and friends. She also loved watching cooking shows on television as well as following everyone on Facebook. Ann was also avid collector of Santa Clauses big and small and loved going for rides around town and in the country to people watch and visit with whomever she was with. She genuinely was a friend to everyone.

Ann’s greatest joy was her family. She and Joe were inseparable and always took tremendous care of each other. Ann’s two boys were her pride and joy. She loved talking about Joe’s Lowe’s Stores or how Tony’s football and basketball teams were doing. Ann treasured every single moment that she spent with her 3 grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, and Piper. They loved “Nana’s” house where there was always an ice cream bar, toys, and a big smile and hug waiting for them.

Ann is survived by her two sons, Joe Neubauer and his wife, Rhonda, and their son, Joseph, of Springfield, Illinois, Tony Neubauer, and his wife Jamie, and their children, Anthony and Piper of Creston, Iowa; two brothers, Russ O’Donnell and his wife Margaret, of Elma, and Jerry O’Donnell and his wife Barb of Cresco, Iowa.
