Obituary.
Mr. Joseph Davis died at his home in Cresco, April 25, 1901, in the 71st year of his age. Mr. Davis has been in ill health all winter, suffering from a complication of diseases. He was born in New York state. At an early age removing with his parents to Wisconsin, where he lived for many years. He was an old soldier, serving in the civil war from begining until the close. About eight years ago he moved to his farm near Cresco. About one month ago he with his wife removed to this place where he has since lived, until last Thursday when death released him from suffering, He leaves a wife and two children, E. W. Davis, residing near Cresco, and Mrs. Flora Perry of Waterloo.
The funeral occurred Saturday afternoon from the M. E. church, Rev. S. W. Heald officiating. The interment was in Oak Lawn cemetery.
