A sudden and severe affliction befell Mr. and Mrs. Ben Scott who recently moved here from Elma. They went to Cresco to visit Mrs. Scott's parents and while there their little ten weeks old son Alfred was taken ill with cholera infantum and died last Wednesday. The funeral was held is Cresco and the remains interred there Friday. They have the sympathy of their friends in their sudden sorrow. Mrs. Will Lichter of Luxenberg, and Mrs. N. Henkles of Dyersville were also in attendance at the funeral.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Scott lost their three months old baby boy by death, on Wedensday{sic} the 11th, at the Mintey home in New Oregon. The little one will be buried in, the New Oregon cemetery.
