Maude Thayer Clark Dead.
Cresco people were inexpressibly shocked last Thursday evening by hearing of the death of Mrs. Maude Thayer Clark who had passed away at Eldora, Iowa, that afternoon at three o’clock.
Maude Thayer was born at Howard Center. Iowa, May 8, 1870, and died January 24, 1901. Most of her life since her eighteenth year has been spent in Cresco, until about two years ago when she, with her parents, removed to LeSeur, Minn.
On Dec. 4, l900, she was united in marriage with J. A. Clark, of this place, at the home of her parents, and spent the holidays with relatives in Cresco.
While accompanying her husband on his business trips, she was attacked with lagrippe at Eldora, Iowa, and had nearly recovered when a relapse occurred, pleuro-pneumonia set in and her life ended after an illness of about ten days.
The funeral occurred on Sunday afternoon from the Congregational church, of which the deceased was a member, Rev. Holmes officiating, the loved form being laid at rest in Oak Lawn cemetery.
