E. B. Hastings died last Friday Jan. 18, aged 42 years, 11 months and 18 days. He leaves to mourn his loss, a widow two sons and a daughter, an aged father and mother, a brother and a sister, Mrs. W. H. Smith. His funeral took place at the M. E. church Sunday last at 2:30 p. m. Rev. Linn officiating. Scripture text, Luke, 12 chap. 40 verse: “Be ye also ready for ye know not the day or hour when the son of man cometh.”

Transcriber’s Note: Find-a-Grave shows he is buried in Chester Hill Cemetery and that he was born December 1859.
