FATAL ACCIDENT.
Elma, Jan. 22 --Scoville Schroeder, aged 22, son of John Schrader, living six miles west of here, was killed yesterday by the accidental discharge of a gun. A younger brother going into the house a gun over his shoulder, followed closely by him. From some unknown cause the gun went off, the entire charge going through his left lung just missing the heart. He lived five hours after the accident.Transcriber's Note: His last name is spelled two different ways; however, Howard Cemetery records indicate the spelling as Schroeder and that he was known as Scoby and was born December 7, 1877.

Fatally Shot in Left Lung.

Fatal Accident near Elma.
A week ago Sunday Scobey Schroeder, a young man living with his parents seven miles west of Elma was shot and killed by his 17-year-old brother. It was done with a shot gun the youth had taken out, but how and why it occurred is not fully known. Death ensued some four hours after the accident happened.
