After a long and painful illnes,{sic} Mrs. S. M. Cole pased{sic} away at about 10:30 Wednesday evening. Her death was the result of a broken limb sustained last winter, and for several weeks her death was expected daily. The funeral will take place at the family residence, Saturday afternoon at two o’clock.

OBITUARY.
COLE.
Elizabeth Viena Woodhull was born November 14, 1829, in Viena, Ontario county, N. Y., and died at her home in Cresco, after fifteen weeks of intense suffering, August 3, 1904, aged 74 years, 8 months and 20 days. Moved with her parents in 1836 to Michigan, while it was still a wilderness. In November, 1850, she was united in marriage with Loren E. Smith who died in 1854. In 1857. She moved to Janesville, Wis., where August 28, 1858, she was married to Rev. R. H. Kimball. In 1868 they moved to Lime Springs, Iowa, where they lived until Mr. Kimball’s death, August 22,1873, after which she removed to Cresco. October 10, 1877, she was united in marriage with S.M.Cole, who survives her.
She was converted when 12 years of age and united with the Baptist church. She always took a great delight in the study of her Bible, and during the last five years of her life was confined closely to her home and the sacred book was her constant companion.
The funeral took place last Saturday afternoon, at the home, Rev. John Gammons officiating. The interment was at New Oregon cemetery.

Mrs. S. M. Cole, the old-time landlady when New Oregon was the county seat of Howard county, died at her home in Cresco Wednesday last week. Death followed from a limb that was broken last winter.
