OBITUARY.
GARBER.
Magdalena Garber formerly Kach, was born May 19 1833, at Munchenbuchse, Kanton Bern, Switzerland. She was baptized in the name of our Lord in early infancy. From her seventh year she went to school and in her 16th year was confirmed after careful instruction in Christian life. Afterwards she stayed at home, helping her mother in keeping up the household. In March 1854 she married Mr. John Gerber. Eleven children were born to them, 8 of whom are living to mourn the loss of the beloved mother. Two died before her and one son, Rudolf, was never heard of since the cyclone in St Louis in 1895. Two years ago her husband died after a union of 48 years in true love. It was a hard loss for her and since the death of her dear husband she was falling more and more. Since New year she was laid up in bed, never uttering a complaint against her God, patiently waiting for the end. Death came as a relief to her Monday, June 29, 1904, at 6 p. m. She was a loving mother, a true church woman, loved by all her children and honored by all her neighbors. She brought her life to 71 years 1 month and 10 days.
Funeral was held Saturday, July 2d from the home of her daughter, Mary Ratz, where the mother died. Rev. C. Niedermeler her pastor, conducted the funeral services. Interment was in New Oregon cemetery. May she rest in peace till the great day of resurection. COM.
