Tom Jones went to Lime Springs. Friday, to attend the funeral of Tom Gates.

Transcriber’s Note: Pleasant Hill Cemetery records show he was born October 28, 1843 and died December 30, 1903.

Probably Fatal Accident.
Lime Springs, Iowa, Dec. 30.—Thos. Gates, an early settler, stock buyer and farmer, met with a serious accident today. His horses started to run and threw him over on the ground, fracturing his skull at the base of the brain. He has been unconscious since and is not expected to live.
