BARNES.
Lizzie Barnes was born in Albion twp., Howard county, Iowa, June 6th 1871, and died November 4, 1903, at the home of her brother, Peter Breen, in Butte, Montana, aged 32 years. October 12, 1897, she was united in marriage with Leslie M. Barnes of this city, who with thee{sic} little children, the eldest about five years old and the youngest a babe of but a few months, are bereft of the companionship of a true wife and mother.
The deceased has been in ill health for some time and a few months ago it developed a serious characte{sic} and a trip to Montana was undertaken in hopes of relief, a former residence there having benefitted her at that time, but it was of no avail and she graually{sic} failed until the end came.
The remains were brought to Cresco for interment, arriving Saturday last, accompanied by the husband, children, father and brother and the latter’s wife, her only surviving relatives.
The funeral was held Monday from the Church of the Assumption, and the loved form laid at rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery,
The sympathy of all goes out to the young husband, the motherless little children and the aged father in their sad affliction.
