Miss Marie Holon who was called to the deathbed of her grandfather John Holon, left Monday night for her home in South Dakota, after two weeks visit with her friends and relatives. It was a sad coming for her. Her grandfather at the time of her arrival was beyond the power of speech. In spite of all efforts made to save him he passed away peacefully at three o’clock on Monday morning, May 4. He was 80 years old. He complained of feeling unwell since only the previous Wednesday. The sad procession started from Cresco at 8 o’clock on Wednesday morning. The services were held at the Catholic church at Protivin, Rev. Father Yrba officiating, after which the remains were interred in the Protivin cemetery by the side of his dear departed wife. Mr. Holon was a good christain.{sic} He with his wife came to America in 1884 and ever since lived with their daughter Mrs. James Sllfka. The be-reaved relatives and friends have our warmest sympathy.
