An Old Settler Gone.
Catherine, wife of James Boyle, was born in County Siuyer, Parish of Drumklieth, Ireland, in May, 1833, and died at her home, near Chester, Iowa, Monday, April 27, at the advanced age of 70 years.
When fifteen years old she came to America with her sister accompanied by her future husband and his parents. They settled at Newburyport, Mass., where she was married to James Boyle June 29, 1850. Afterward they lived several years In Wisconsin coming from there to Howard county, Iowa, thirty years ago and have since made their home here.
Eight children were born to them, Henry, Mary and Bridget, John, Edward, James (deceased) Frank and Catherine. Of the seven living children all but John, whose whereabouts is at present unknown, are residents of Chester.
Mrs. Boyle was a good woman and a faithful mother, of a cheerful disposition and untiring energy. She was a lifelong member of the Roman Catholic church, living and dying in good standing in the church.
The husband survives to mourn with the children the loss of a devoted wife and loving mother.—Chester Herald.
