Mrs. John Walton, living east of Cresco, in Orleans twp., died Friday from a stroke of paralysis sustained several days ago. She was buried yesterday in the New Oregon cemetery.

Obituary.
WALTON.
Elizabeth, daughter of Adam and Anna Johnson, was born in county Latreem, Ireland, Nov. 12, 1830. At the age of two years she was brought to Canada by her parents, where they resided until the year ’50, when they came to Vernon Springs, Iowa.
In 1862 she was married to John Walton, and settled upon the farm in Orleans twp., Winnesheik{sic} Co., where they have since made their home.
Besides her husband and children, Frank Walton, who lives on the homestead, and Mrs. Geo. Breedlove of Cresco, she leaves one brother, Frank Walton, of Elk River, Minn., and two sisters, Mrs. McCulla, of Estherville, Iowa, and Mrs. Harman, of Cresco.
Mrs. Walton was one of those unselfish ones who always prefered others before herself, and was never so happy as when administering to the comfort and happiness of others. Always leaving self out of consideration, and in honor prefering others, as every one who knows her testifies. And one has only to see the beautiful home, which the united efforts of herself and her husband have brought out of the wilderness, to know that her work was well done, and in which she has left a lasting monument to her memory. May others see her good work and follow her.
The funeral took place Monday from the home of the deceased, the interment being in the New Oregon cemetery. Rev V. E. Hall of Ridgeway conducting the funeral services.
