Overland Park, Kan. - Willis Joseph McGee, age 91, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Raymond, Iowa died Friday, July 13 at the Heritage House in Overland Park.
Mass of Christian burial was held on July 17 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, Iowa, where full military rites were conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the Gilbertville American Legion Nugent Demuth Post 714. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco, Iowa.

Willis was born on Aug. 25, 1926 in Cresco, the son of Leo and Geneva Cummings McGee. He married Emma Jean Walton on Sept. 4, 1948. She died Oct. 29, 2009.
Willis was a veteran of the United States Navy. After his service, he began farming with his wife near Raymond and became employed with Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, Iowa, where he remained until the company’s liquidation in 1984.
His greatest joys in life were his family, farming and being able to send his children to college.
Survivors include a son, Francis “Fritz” (June) McGee of Cherokee, Okla.; two daughters, Diane Roberts of San Antonio, Texas and Jean (Vern) Baumhover of Olathe, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Brad, Matt, Amy, Michael, Stephanie, Will, Jenna, Conner and Cameron; and nine great-grandchildren, Garrett, Charlie, Joey, Jimmy, Henry, George, Annie, Benson and Maclan.
He was preceded in death by his wife; an infant daughter, Joan McGee; two sisters, Eileen Whalen and Dorothy Hovey; two brothers, Leo and Ron McGee; and a son-in-law, Lloyd Roberts.
